Cleaning, laundry, shopping, meals, and the hundred small things that quietly stop happening when life gets harder.

Household Help

The house gets quietly harder. The hoover feels heavier. The bed-changing becomes a two-day job. The fridge slowly fills with things past their date. None of it is a crisis, but it adds up.

Household help puts a regular hour or two back into the week. The carer arrives on the same day at the same time, and works through whatever needs doing. Most clients book one or two visits a week and never need to escalate beyond that.

It is also the gentlest way into care. For families who suspect their parent needs more help but know they will refuse anything that sounds like care, “someone to help around the house” usually goes down a lot easier than “a care worker”.

What’s included

  • Cleaning the bathroom and kitchen properly
  • Hoovering, dusting, mopping floors
  • Bed-changing and laundry, ironing if needed
  • Food shopping with the client, for the client, or online together
  • Meal preparation, fresh or batch-cooked and frozen
  • Decluttering and tidying paperwork on request
  • A friendly check-in that notices when something has changed

How it works

We do a free home visit to see what needs doing and what the client actually wants help with. Some clients are precise about how the bed should be made and what cupboard the mugs live in. We listen and we follow. The same carer comes every week wherever possible, and we feed back to family if anything looks like it is changing for the worse.

Who it's for

Common questions

Things families ask us most.

Is this the same as a regular cleaner? +

Different. A cleaner cleans. Our household help is a trained care worker who happens to do household tasks. They will spot the milk going off, notice the weight loss, mention the bruise, and let us and the family know if something is changing. The cleaning gets done, but the visit does more.

Can the carer do the weekly food shop? +

Yes. Either we collect a list and shop with the client, or we drive them to the shop and back, or we do an online order together. Whatever works. Many clients enjoy the trip out and the chat at the till as much as the shop itself.

Will you also cook proper meals, or just heat something up? +

Either. Some clients want a fresh meal cooked from scratch and frozen in portions. Others want help with a microwave meal and a proper cup of tea. We follow the client's preference and pay attention to nutrition without being preachy about it.
